With the personalisation module any user can have his personal profile. Any information can be stored in this profile, such as name, interests, department, etc. Desginers of a Website can make use of these information in presenting only those content to a user that matches with his profile. Sales information f.e. can be made visible to sales stuff, project-related information to members of a project team etc. The target is to reduce the total amount of content of a site individually for every user so that the "fitting" information is available to him within the shortest possible time.
WGA Portal Services have been developed to extend Websites or intranets to "company portals".
Major concept of portals is to offer a personalised view on legacy data and company applications to a user. These "views" are integrated into the portal through "portlets".
Portlets are independend modules with a defined functionality that can be combined in the portal user-defined.
Portlets normally contain user-specific configurations that are stored in the user profile. In a CRM portlet, f.e. the currently selected customer can be stored in the (individual) portlet configuration.
For maintenance of these portlet configurations comfortable TMSScript functions are available.
